KCRG’s new set is modern and hi-tech. The architecture is bold and unique with strong, leading lines and multiple layered components, including a large, diffused acrylic panel with custom etch-lite graphics in the Weather Center area.

Incorporated into the new set was a 112” wide touchscreen. It is the largest interactive touch screen of its kind in the U.S. and third largest in the world. The large touch screen will be used for weather as well as other interactive storytelling.

The design allows for multiple venues for creative and interactive news presentation. The multiple purpose area has a platform that can be used with chairs for interviews, sports, etc. or rolled away for stand up presentations in front of the large rear projection screen.

Overall, the set is warm and inviting with organic finishes; including a custom “cloth” texture faux finish mixed with touches of cool metallic and solid architectural features.
